Guiding Principles

When the HCF board was working on the Strategic Plan, we wanted to have a good understanding of what our guiding principles are since they will be important when making decisions about funding. We felt that the following guiding principles would allow us to ensure that we worked well as individuals, as board members and as partners with people and communities.

The HCF is committed to working well together with each other on the board and with people and communities to achieve common goals while being mindful of the time constraints organizations may have in terms of collaboration.

Being proactive will help ensure that we stay focused as a board in meeting our strategic priorities and goals.

The HCF respects the human dignity of every individual, irrespective of sex, gender, parentage, race, language and faith.

The HCF is committed to ensuring the board is responsive and aware of the changing needs of people and communities.
